His ex-girlfriend feared for her life
Believe it or not, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson’s personal life has been far from smooth. The strongman-turned-actor has faced serious allegations, with multiple ex-girlfriends accusing him of domestic violence.
”I honestly thought he wouldn’t hit me when I was pregnant,” Steimann told Icelandic newspaper Fréttablaðið.
However, the police investigation found no evidence to support her claims, and Björnsson later filed a slander lawsuit against her. He still claims that he has never been violent to women.
Sadly, the situation escalated to the point where Hafþór was banned from seeing his daughter for three years. Fortunately, things have calmed down over the years, and now he regularly visits his daughter, Theresa Líf, who lives in Denmark with her mother.
Meeting Kelsey Henson
In late 2017, a fateful meeting in Alberta would change Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson’s life. The towering strongman had traveled to the Canadian province for a promotional event for Icelandic Mountain Vodka, as well as to tour for the Warwick Strongman Festival.
It was at that event that Hafþór met Kelsey Morgan Henson, a Canadian fitness model and waitress who instantly caught his attention. The story goes that their connection began when Kelsey approached The Mountain to ask for a picture, sparking the start of their romance.
The couple quickly found themselves in the spotlight, not only because of Hafþór’s towering stature but also due to the remarkable height difference between them. Kelsey stands at 5 feet 2 inches, making her more than a foot and a half shorter than Björnsson. What started as a curious spectacle soon turned into something much deeper — an authentic and meaningful connection.
