½ teaspoon ground turmeric (or 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric, grated)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
Juice of ½ lemon (about 2 tablespoons)
Optional: pinch of black pepper (helps the body absorb turmeric more effectively)
