It’s been 19 years since Patricia Rashbrook and John Farrant made headlines around the world, and much has changed since then. Their son, Jude, has grown into a young man and, by all accounts, still resides in Lewes, East Sussex.

The family stepped away from the public eye after 2006, giving no further interviews, seemingly retreating from the spotlight. Patricia would be around 76 years old by now, but sadly, her husband and Jude’s father has passed away.

John Farrant died in 2021, as reported in his obituary.

Friend Christopher Whittick fondly remembered John’s academic contributions and his work as a local historian in Sussex, where he was deeply involved and wrote numerous articles about the people who shaped the community.

But Whittick also reflected on another side of John:

“In 2007, with the birth of his son Jude, John’s life took a different and joyous turn, as he added fatherhood to his already wide skillset. I suspect that it gave him more pleasure and satisfaction than any of his former achievements.”
